Well here it is, my fifth album produced here in France.

A little bit like growing vegetables, one goes through the same procedure each season & the results are never the same twice.

Periodically the need / urge to record new material arrives. There will be some new songs, inspirations, aspirations maybe some old songs, some longstanding ideas, new influences. Sufficient of all that & there is momentum to start. From there on it is a voyage of discovery, surprise & delight along the way.

The title “Stroll Out West”is taken from a line in Robert Petways Catfish Blues & references my own gradual westward moves in life.

I have taken more time recording “Stroll Out West” determined to avoid frustrations of previous projects. Pascal Ferrari who has mixed & mastered the previous two albums really started the process suggesting I should buy two particular ribbon mic's & that he would like to be more musically involved in the next album.

We did some early recording at Pascals studio at Martigné Ferchaud.Once again I preferred to work from home ( I just do it better there) Pascal subsequently added his ideas as he thought appropriate. In total he has contributed on seven of the twelve tracks, the other five being solo.

The mastered tracks were delivered to me on 31/12/22 New Years Eve “Done”

So the New Year begins, the album is finished.
